ART FOR MUSIC’S SAKE
Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EDT)
New York, NY
Online ticket sales have closed, you can purchase tickets at the door.
We have a lot to celebrate in our 2013-2014 season. First, it’s our 40th anniversary, and we’re proud to have served Brooklyn and the greater New York City area for so long. Second, we’re proud to announce that it will be our first season as the new artists-in-residence at the Brooklyn Museum. We’re so excited to join the Brooklyn Museum in its mission to deliver culturally rich experiences to its guests.
Before we get to the celebrations though, we need your help. We have expenses for rehearsal space, music rentals and equipment rentals – things that make our five free concerts per year possible. And every year, we rely on the community to fund 10% of our operating budget.
On May 1, the Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra is hosting Art for Music’s Sake, a silent art auction featuring local visual artists and small ensembles from the Orchestra itself.
Tickets for the VIP Hour from 6pm to 7pm, featuring exclusive artwork, artist interaction, and a tasting menu prepared by Michael McCabe, Head Chef from Park Slope’s Melt, are $75.

When & Where
Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra
The Brooklyn Symphony Orchestra is proud to celebrate its 2012-2013 season under the baton of Artistic Director Nicholas Armstrong. The orchestra joins together to perform free concerts of classical, romantic, and 20th-century works at St. Ann's Church in Brooklyn Heights, in addition to concerts of smaller ensembles throughout the borough. Founded in 1973, the orchestra, a mix of talented amateur, semi-professional, and professional musicians, is made up of people from all walks of life who play for the sheer joy of the experience.
